Member, Westminster Lions Club (president, 2009-10); American Legion, Carroll Post no. 31, Westminster; Historical Society of Carroll County. Past president, Carroll County Association of Life Unterwriters. Lion of the Year, Westminster Lions Club, 2007. Member, Church of the Open Door, Westminster. Married; three children, eight grandchildren. Died in Westminster, Maryland, July 11, 2012.
