Member, Margaret Brent Inn of Court, 1990-91 (chair, pupilage group, 1990-91); Maryland Council of Masters, 1992-94 (secretary & treasurer, 1993-94). Member, Bates Advisory Committee. Chair, Board of Trustees, Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center, 2003-07. Member, Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Board of Directors, Boys and Girls Club. Died in Annapolis, Maryland, May 16, 2007.
