Report to Governor & General Assembly due June 30, 2014 (Chapter 336, Acts of 2013).

In July 2013, the Task Force to Study a Post-Labor Day Start Date for Maryland Public Schools formed (Chapter 336, Acts of 2013).

The Task Force will study what impact changing the school start date to follow Labor Day would have on summer tourism and Maryland's economy. Its effect on local school systems with regard to the academic calendar, planning, administration, and facility use also will be considered.

Authorization for the Task Force ends June 30, 2014.
