In May 2011, the Governor's Office of Health Care Reform was authorized by the Governor (Executive Order 01.01.2011.10). The Office is to provide leadership, oversight, and coordination for Maryland's implementation of health care reform as mandated by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.

Authorization for the Office extends through December 31, 2015.
