PREFACE.
This edition of the Annotated Code of Maryland follows the same plan
as that of previous editions.
The numbering of the existing Articles has not been changed but several
new Articles have been added. Due to the numerous new laws and sections
enacted since the 1924 edition, it has been necessary to change the number-
ing of the sections of many Articles. The number of the sections, as they
appeared in the Codes of 1924, 1912, 1904 and 1888, appears above each
section as well as a reference to the Act or Acts enacting or amending the
section.
The Constitution of Maryland and the Public General Laws are anno-
tated through 175 Maryland, 307 U. S., 83 Law Edition, 107 Federal
Reports (2nd Series), and 29 Federal Supplement.
Care should be exercised to ascertain whether the decisions relating to
any particular section or statute deal with the same in its present form.
Decisions which do not refer in terms to a section or statute are not in-
cluded in the annotations in this Code.
Grateful acknowledgment is made of the assistance rendered by
Mrs. Nellie M. Webster, Miss Ella S. Hitchcock, Mr. Carroll N. Clary
and Mr. C. Keating Bowie, Jr., in the preparation and indexing of this
publication.
